More recently, CNVC-certified trainer Dominic Barter has been involved in creating a large restorative justice program in Brazil. The processes and structures used in this approach to restorative justice are aligned with NVC values, yet do not require the involvement of a facilitator highly proficient in NVC. To the contrary, there is a deliberate attempt to minimize the role of the facilitator so as to support the empowerment of participants, and it could be the case that no one involved is trained in NVC. The structure of the process -- which is equally known to all -- itself tends to support the creation of outcomes aligned with the goals of NVC. Because this approach relies less on the skill of the facilitator, it is easier for the use of the restorative process to achieve widespread adoption.

Barter typically would avoid the terms "Perpetrator" and "Victim" insofar as these terms arise from the premises of the retributive justice paradigm. Instead, Barter refers to the "Author" and "Receiver" of an "Act." »

Ce qui me plaisait dans cette présentation, c'était le mise en avant de l'« empuissancement » des participants — comme disent les Québequois ; ) — et du coup la possibilité de voir se développer l'esprit de ce qui est aimé dans la CNV, sans le bloquage induit par le goulot d'étranglement autour de la certification des formateurs CNV.
